Keeping Groups You Join Private On Facebook

PLEASE NOT: NEW FIXES WILL BE SENT TO MEMBERS OF THE FACEBOOK GROUP
AS SOON AS THEY ARE POSTED TO THIS BLOG!!

If you don't want to publish information about the groups you are joining to your news feed, make the following changes to your settings:

  • Float your mouse over "Settings" to the right of your name and select "Applications".
  • A new page will load.
  • You will see "Groups" listed on the left side of the page. Click "Edit settings".

The "Edit Groups Settings" window will open. Set your privacy
level for who you want to be able to see your Groups when someone clicks on the "Info" tab in your profile. Next, click "Additional Permissions" and de-select "Publish to streams" check box and set your email options. Click "OK" to save the settings changes. While your in here, you might as well take a look at the settings for the other applications!

Good Luck with the new Facebook interface!
And join us in the "OMG!! FB!! WTF!! WE WANT OUR OLD NEWSFEED BACK!!" on Facebook!!

Please leave feedback on this "How To" post!!!
