Here is the transcript of the video segment in question:
From "Michelle Bachman on Pelosi Health Care Bill: "This Is the Crown jewel of Socialism"
at 1 min 18 secs into the video:
Sean Hannity: "Now one of the other things, page 92, one of the main promises that the President made was that if you like your insurance, you'll be able to keep your insurance. Now you've spent time sifting through the bill. My read on page 92 is that that's not true. Your interpretation?"
Michelle Bachman: "I agree. It's not true. It's, it's very clear on page 92 that people will not get to because it says specifically that people can't purchase private health insurance after a 'date certain'. Which means, people will ultimately go into a single payer plan, where it is government providing health care and only one single government system,..."
Here is the text from page 92 of the Health Care Bill :
Is it clear to you that page 92 says what the elected member of the United States Congress says it does? Didn't she say "It's, it's very clear on page 92 that people will not get to because it says specifically that people can't purchase private health insurance after a 'date certain'."? Is this grounds for impeachment? Should Sean be fired for flat out misleading the American Public? Does the first amendment also mean there is no consequence for lying? What do you think?

Ya know, you do yourselves no favors by distorting the photo of Rep. Bachman. Before I was even able to read the first word of your story, I already knew that your view is SEVERELY slanted. What is in the health plan is going to be a matter for interpretation by the courts. Now, if you can tell me that what Sean and Rep. Bachman discussed is NOWHERE in the health care bill, you might make a real point.
ReplyDeleteI do know that we (the American people) were deceived when the President told us that, starting immediately, children could no longer be denied benefits because of preexisting conditions. While it is true that, within 90 days, no one will be able to be denied benefits for a preexisting condition, that comes with the caveat "If you can afford insurance from a high-risk pool". The ban on preexisting conditions does not go into effect until 2014, and that applies to adults and kids alike. If you don't believe me, I refer you to Section 1253 of the bill, which applies to Section 2704 of the bill, which is the section on preexisting conditions. See guys, that's the way you do it; if you make a claim, back it up with some hard FACTS!
